Water Utility Management Information Systems and Services
Hydro-Comp provides a unique combination of services and management information systems aimed at improving overall Water performance and efficiency. The Hydro-Comp group includes EDAMS Technology, the technology development arm of the group.
The EDAMS range of systems seamlessly integrate the commercial, operations, maintenance and planning functions of the Water Service Provider and together with a Financial and a Telemetry system provide the Water Utility with a coherent enterprise management solution covering all core business functions leading up to the formulation of annual Business Plans.
EDAMS Billing and Customer Services System
A comprehensive integrated Commercial Management system that includes Customer Services, Meter reading, meter maintenance, Billing, Receipting and Revenue Credit Control Management for all services managed by the Utility like Water, Sewer, water delivery, sewer removal and any other type of charges.
A special feature is the new EDAMS Customer Services module. The system can capture and process applications (e.g. new connections, disconnections, change of tenant, etc.), complaints and notices (e.g. change of address). Users can create new types of applications or workflows and modify the processing of application processes to suit requirements.
EDAMS Asset Management (AM) systems and Services
A comprehensive AM solution aimed at medium to large utilities involving the implementation of EDAMS-AM systems, capacity building and studies where necessary for implementing the systems in a meaningful way all done in line with the ISO 55000 family of standards for AM - with the main objective of improving the Utility’s level of service and business performance - through adopting an integrated approach to monitoring, operating, maintaining, upgrading, and disposing of assets cost-effectively.
Tasks include: AM Policy & Levels of Service, Monitoring, Evaluation & Improvement, Asset Register/ Data Management, Commercial Data Management/ Rehabilitation, Maintenance Management, Operations (Monitoring & Control), Distribution/ NRW Management, Asset Management/ Rehabilitation Planning, Hydraulic Modelling/ Optimisation and Business Planning. Projects can be comprehensive or in part as per Client’s requirements, for example a project can be limited to Operations and Maintenance.
EDAMS-Plant Information Management system
An Industry specific Water and Effluent treatment Plant information system addressing in a seamless and integrated manner all aspects of Plant Operations, Maintenance, Water Quality Management and Asset Management/ Rehabilitation Planning. Special features include Plant Maintenance hierarchy, Plant Maintenance navigation, and industry specific templates and procedures able to handle all relevant Plant Activities such as: Investigations, Inspections, Operations (logs, meter reading, etc..), Operations Opening/ Closing of Valves, Repairs/ Outage management, Servicing (Routine, Preventive Maintenance).
EDAMS-Environmental Management system
The EDAMS-Environmental Management system is ideal for departments under the ministry of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Environment; it manages Geospatial Info, time-series measurements, licenses, permits, applications as well as water, ground and air quality data; associated services address the collection, management & reporting of Environmental Data and the efficient Operation of Government Environmental Sectors. The system was implemented as an IWRM (Integrated Water Resources Management) system encompassing all relevant water-users at the Department of Water Development, Cyprus.
EDAMS Integrated Quality Management (IQM) System
Applicable both for Water Utilities and Government Environmental Departments goes far beyond a standard Laboratory Management Information System. The system adds value to the Utility’s Quality monitoring program, effectively dealing with the acquisition, management, monitoring, reporting and publishing of quality data.
EDAMS Integrated Quality Management Information System (EDAMS-IQMIS) brings all the functionality required for a Utility wide implementation and constitutes a complete monitoring system covering potable air, water, waste water and industrial effluent.
The Hydro-Comp AM program
A Low cost, Low-risk AM solution for small to medium size Water Utilities. The program provides technical assistance and the use of EDAMS AM Software through the Cloud to carry out effective AM for monitoring, operating, maintaining, upgrading, and disposing of assets cost-effectively, while maintaining a desired level of service and improving overall Utility performance. A an affordable, low-risk solution.
Participation in the AM program is under different packages depending on the proficiency reached by the Utility, with SILVER membership addressing the Technical Asset Register, GIS/ Network Data Management, GOLD membership introduces Maintenance and PLATINUM Operations and Distribution/ Non-Revenue Water Management. Additional systems and services include Condition Assessment, Rehabilitation Planning, Network Optimization and Business Planning.
The EDAMS-AM program has been implemented in South Eastern Europe (SEE) and is supported by the German Development Cooperation. On project completion in 2021 more than 100 Public Utilities in the SEE region representing 5 million consumers will be using the EDAMS-AM solutions on the Cloud.
The company’s successful implementation track record includes a multitude of projects ranging from the implementation of systems to turn-key projects covering systems, consulting services and support. Funding for projects carried out varies from simple internal funding to funding by international agencies, such as the World Bank, MCC (Millennium Challenge), DBSA (SA), ADB, KfW (German), AFD (French), (DfID) (UK).
